With a season-opening 36-0 win over Spencer under their belt, the Emmetsburg E’Hawks are now focused on a very respectable club from Northwood-Kensett.
“They’re a big, physical team,” noted Emmetsburg Head Coach Mike Dunlap. “They’re as physical a team as we’ve played in awhile.”
According to Dunlap, the Vikings work out of the wishbone offense, and play straight power football.
“They’ll just pound the ball at you and come right at you every down,” Dunlap said. “Defensively, they’ll be in a 4-4 or 6-2 and come right at you as well.”
With Friday’s game being the first-ever meeting of the two clubs, Dunlap and the E’Hawks know there are a lot of unknowns going into the contest. “We understand that there are unknowns coming into Friday night, and we have to rely on what we’ve seen of them on film. Otherwise, we’ll have to be able to react to what they do and adjust to what they’re doing on the field.
