Knights Win Season Opener
REMSEN – Graettinger/Terril opened its 2010 football season with a 25-13 victory over the Rockets of Remsen-Union Friday night. The Knights got a solid offensive performance after shaking off a little rust in putting together 297 total yards in the victory.
“We had some trouble running the ball to start out,” noted Graettinger/Terril Head Coach Karlton Hector. “Thankfully our passing game was good and our defense played well.” Overall I was pleased with how we played and it was good to get that first win.”
Behind quarterback Eric Hatland, the Knights worked their way out to a 19-0 lead at the intermission of the contest, but Remsen-Union had other ideas to start the second half of the contest. The Rockets took the opening kickoff of the half and got a 60 yard return that would set up a two-yard touchdown to cut the score to 19-7.
