Cylinder Quasquicentennial Memorabilia Now Available

How do you memorialize a celebration? You create a cookbook and commission a painting of community landmarks. That’s just a few of things Cylinder has done in anticipation of their quasquicentennial celebration Aug. 6, 7, and 8.
According to Deb Weisbrod, celebration organizer, the Cylinder Quasquicentennial Cookbook has been a hot seller.
“We’ve had very good feedback on the cookbook,” said Weisbrod. “It has lots of good, usable recipes with items you commonly have on hand.”
The 220-page cookbook contains over 470 recipes submitted by current and former Cylinder residents.
“It’s a nice mixture of recipes and Cylinder history,” added Weisbrod.
Each cookbook section is divided by a page with a photo from the Cylinder of long ag.

A week of festivities observing 50 years of St. Patrick’s Celebrations begins this Sunday, March 14. There are several changes this year in the schedule of events.
